What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you use an online service. It stores a piece of information — here, your choice about trackers — for the period set out below.
Our principle
No non-essential tracker is set before you give explicit consent. Until you have answered the consent banner, or if you refuse, the Google tag is not loaded at all and only the cookie that stores your choice is used. Refusing is as easy as accepting: both buttons are presented at the same level. We implement Google Consent Mode v2 with every signal set to “denied” by default.
Cookies used
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sportivo_consent | Records whether you accepted or refused non-essential trackers. | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 — distinguishes visitors to produce aggregate audience statistics. Set by Google Ireland Ltd, only after consent. | Audience measurement (Google Analytics) — after consent | 13 months |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics 4 — keeps the state of the current visit for this property. Set only after consent. | Audience measurement (Google Analytics) — after consent | 13 months |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads — measures whether a visit coming from one of our ads leads to a visit of an operator page (conversion). Never used for remarketing or personalised ads. Set only after consent. | Ad measurement (Google Ads) — after consent | 90 days |
Google services
Audience and ad measurement are provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics cookie lifetime is capped at 13 months, in line with CNIL guidance. Ad personalisation signals are switched off: as sports betting is a sensitive category under Google’s advertising policies, we do not build remarketing lists or audiences from our visitors. To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
What we do not use
- No personalised advertising, remarketing or audience lists — ad personalisation is disabled in our Google tag.
- No social network pixel and no tracking share button.
- No sale or disclosure of browsing data to data brokers.
- No automated profiling producing legal effects concerning you.
Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, which clears your choice and the Google cookies and shows the consent banner again. You can also delete the sportivo_consent cookie in your browser settings.
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may impair the service, in particular the storing of your refusal, which would then be requested again on every visit.
Retention period
Consent is kept for a maximum of six months, in line with CNIL recommendations. After that, you are asked for your choice again.
